The slightest flush graced Roderich's cheeks as Gilbert's lips lingered against his skin, a starburst of warmth spreading from that tender point all through his body. Breath in his throat, he reached up slowly and gently wrapped his hand around the side of Gilbert's head, burying his fingers in his soft silver hair as he stared into the Prussian's eyes and tried to read what is was in those crimson orbs that captivated him so.
His heartbeat was almost painful in his chest as blood pounded through his body, his wide violet eyes staring into Gilbert's crimson with an almost pleading expression. Explain it to me. Why do you do this to me? Why do I feel like I can't control myself around you...? As these thoughts raced through his mind, keeping his eyes on the Prussian's, Roderich used his grip on his head to tug him closer, gently but with no sign of letting go. "Who's a 'feminine wimp'?" he whispered, eyes burning with a strange intensity as he half-stood, supporting his weight against the table with his free hand near where Gilbert sat to look down at the other man.
Without closing his eyes, he let his lips descend to brush the tip of the other man's nose, savoring the look in Gilbert's eyes as his lips twisted into something resembling a smirk at the rush of tingles that exploded through his body. His fingertips stroked a lock of the other man's silver hair as he trailed his lips up to the bridge of his nose back down to the tip before he pulling back for a moment to lean in again to caress his slightly-parted lips against Gilbert's cheek.
He couldn't claim he didn't know what he was doing this time as he pulled back, eyes never leaving the Prussian's. Heart pounding in his ears, he pulled his hand away from Gilbert's head and adjusted his glasses from where they'd started to slip down his nose, keeping his half-standing position over the other man. "You're right," he whispered hoarsely, "And the same applies to you. The world needs someone like you, Gilbert. I--" he cut himself off and flushed, eyes darting away for the first time.
I need you... [/blockquote]

The moment Roderich's fingers had threaded themselves in his hair, it was as if Gilbert's body had suddenly lost it's ability to move. He sat on the edge of the table, his hands having fallen to the other's shoulders hung there limply unable to do so much as twitch as he let the brunette have his way. His chest had tightened to the point of pain, making breathing impossible as he tried to calm his body down enough to register what was going on properly, but his mind was gone. The entire world around him had simply faded away and disappeared, leaving only Roderich and himself behind.
A dull warmth shot through his body like wildfire, and for several seconds, the albino swore his heart had started to beat again, if only for that moment. The faint 'th-thump, th-thump' of a heartbeat echoed loudly in his senses, and it wasn't until the fingers in his hair slowly pulled away that he realized it had been Roderich's heartbeat and not his own; though he couldn't tell if this pleased or disappointed him. Perhaps both. He licked his lips in anticipation, a voice somewhere in the back of his mind voicing quiet protests against the brunette for not taking things further, but it was silenced just as quickly as it had formed.
"You're right... And the same applies to you. The world needs someone like you, Gilbert. I--"
Gilbert blinked slowly, feeling something catch in his throat. No one, no one, had ever told him that he was needed before; that he had a purpose for someone. His eyes stung, burning as tears pooled in the corners, but he forced them back, pulling Roderich into the tightest hug he trusted himself to give without causing any harm. "Roderich, my master... If it is what you wish, I'll follow you anywhere. Even if this castle crumbles and falls to the ground and your brilliant crown rusts. Even if bodies pile up around us and we're stuck running forever... I'll stay with you until the last of my unending life is forced from me. No matter what happens, contract or not... I'm not leaving you." He pulled back slowly, offering the brunette a brilliant (and not at all cocky) grin. Even if I can't be honest with you, if I'm just a servant, friend, or otherwise, that's fine. I don't care. As long as I remain useful to you, and you allow me to stay at your side... that'll be enough for now. I'll hold back as long as I can; as long as you are happy.
"You should finish your tea," he finally mumbled, shifting several inches over on the table to allow the brunette easier access to his drink. "We're running low on supplies and should head back to down for a while. You need the fresh-air to clear your head, anyway. We can come back and clean more later, ja? We can pack these two depressing novels and take them with us. The rest can wait."

A slight gasp burst from Roderich's lips as Gilbert enveloped him in a hug. His body was suffused with a strange warmth he hadn't expected to feel from the other man, and he smiled, combing his fingers through his hair with gentle fingers. His heartbeat had yet to slow, and he buried his fingers in the other man's hair to hold him close, breathing in a scent of campfires and dust and the faintest scent of mothballs from his old (new) uniform.
He smiled as Gilbert pulled away, trying to hide just how much the other man's words meant to him. He'd never had anyone to believe that he could do what he set out to do, and never had anyone been crazy enough to follow. Gilbert... he thought, staring into the other man's eyes as if hoping he'd read his mind, I can't guarantee that you'll be able to follow me wherever I go. But I want you with me every possible step of the way...
With another smile, he reached around to drink the last remnants of tea from the cup before rinsing it quickly in the sink. "That's an excellent plan," he replied, crossing back over and pulling the Prussian's arm to get him off the table. "When we get back to town, I'll need to do some... shopping." Absently, his hand reached behind him to where his violin case was usually strapped before letting his hand fall with a wry smile. Glancing at the other man, his sadness faded just a bit to a dull ache, replaced by an overwhelmingly pleasant tingle. "Come on, let's get packed and head back. I doubt any thieves would have the desire to rob this place, anyway." [/blockquote]
