History: Im Yun Soo was born in a farmer's family, located just a mile away from a nearby forest. His curiosity of the world came from learning about his father's past. Back during his father’s teenage years he was a ranger, moving from one job to another whenever "the wind called for it,”. The exciting tales he heard soon enraptured the young boy. Ever since he heard of his father's tales of travel, Im Yun Soo would go into the forest and imagine the place full of creatures, beasts, and monsters.
When Im Yun Soo turned 10, he was immediately forced to go and help his family in the fields. The constant labor from dawn to dusk built up his muscles quite quickly, however in turn a ferocious appetite. It was during this time that he developed a strange liking to a Korean dish, called kimchi. Every day whenever the young boy would get the chance Im would stuff his mouth with as much kimchi as possible. Despite the enormous amount of food the Korean consumed and the daily physical chores of farming, Im Yun Soo had managed to stay surprisingly thin. His volume of speaking, on the other hand, increased dramatically.
Im Yun's life started to change once he turned 13. It was a week after his birthday when his mother had died. There were signs that his mom’s constitution was week from the beginning. After Im Yun Soo's birth was when his mom's health had decline. At first it were just subtle signs, like how her back would hurt at random moments of the day along with a tired expression after long hours of labor. It gradually grew worse as Im Yun Soo grew older. When he turned 5, his mother was no longer able to work out in the fields. When Im turned 10, his mother was deathly pale and slept at most hours of the day. After his mother’s death, Im Yun Soo grieved deeply. This was the first time someone close to him has died, especially one from his family. It took the Korean a year until he finally came back to his senses, and saw that the family farm was barely passing through. With only him and his father tending the farm, it was a constant struggle against nature and manpower.
After months of fruitless labor, his father announced to Im Yun Soo that he had sold the farm, and bought a small house to retire. With this, he told him to go out in the world, and see more than just the farm and the people surrounding them. Im protested, knowing that his father as well was slowly getting sick. But after a few more days of persistent arguments, Im finally gave in and agreed to his father's request. So at the age of 15, the Korean finally set foot out from his small world, with only a map and $1000 dollars with him.
For the first six months alone, Im mostly stayed and lived in the wild. It wasn't that he was scared of checking the plaza and meeting people, but traveling was more exciting. The chance that a monster and or creature can pop out and attack him at any moment practically enthralled the young Korean.
How Im became a ranger was when he met a man named Syngman Rhee. During one of Im's strolls, he stumbled upon his soon to be friend/teacher Rhee getting attacked by two thieves. Noticing that Rhee was bleeding profusely in his left leg, The Korean stepped into the conflict. He managed to win the fight through sheer strength and fast reflexes. Once knocking the attackers out, Im took Rhee into one of his many shelters, and waited for the man to recover.
Im and Rhee hit off quite well, and the two became fast friends. Once Rhee had recuperated successfully, he decided to teach Im a few basic Ranger techniques. In just a few weeks, Im was able to perfect and create his own type of attacks with any type of weapon or blade. The few magic spells that he learned, on the other hand, had less than a 10% chance of working. However whenever they did, it would always be 100% effective.
After learning all of this, the next day Rhee suddenly vanished. Im still to this day didn't understood why. The last words that Rhee said to him were, "Good job." Worried as to what had happened to his friend, Im decided to visit the city and villages more, and opened himself to a variety of jobs that he could grab unto. After listening to leads and rumors, Im managed to piece up the fact that his friend, Rhee, was killed. Why? The Korean would never know. Im still continues to do jobs and errands, with a small hope to find out who killed Rhee and why.

"Haa," the Korean sighed as he leaned back on his chair to rub his stomach. Im Yun Soo just finished eating his tenth bowl of kimchi, and was now fully content. I am still going through puberty, Im thought. Lazily, his eyes fluttered open once he heard the scraping of a chair across the hardwood floor. In an energetic manner he waved at his new companion, letting his one , messy curl sway from side to side.
"Hello there! Ahh my, you have a lot to carry." He eyed the food the stranger bought. Just...rice? pfft, He should’ve just picked the kimchi instead…
"Eh? Ah, Yes. This is just for an errand." the young man muttered and gave a slight bow toward Im.
"Maa, I understand! You must be a Ranger too right?" The conversation between the two was soon caught off when they heard a screeching yell across from the restaurant's kitchen.
"This is a rip-off! How can you not see the dead rat in my foot? I want my money back!" The argument caught the curiosity of Im immediately. One reason why was that it had been a long time since anything exciting happened in his life. THe other reason was because of the comical look it portrayed. It looks like one of those typical school stories… the Korean thought. The one that was yelling about the dead rat was frighteningly obese, his double chin wobbling furiously as he was ranting on and on toward the waiter, who was at the moment shivering uncontrollably.
"I-I'm sorry sir, but you still have to..."
"Are you nuts? Why should I pay you people for such poor service? I could close this place down in a heartbeat! Do you KNOW who I am?"
"A pathetic big guy with jiggly man-boobs?" Im retorted back. Sure enough the Korean’s eyebrows were knit together, the face in his curl also having a frown on its mouth as well. Whenever he would see this type of scene before him, the Korean couldn’t help but cut into the conversation. He hates just watching as someone right in front of the Korean is bullying someone else.
“Hey you, Fattie. I don’t care who you are, just leave that guy alone! Or else…” With a flick of his hand the Korean pulled out a thin, double pointed dagger. He spun the dagger around, letting its blade glint hungrily toward the two of them.
The two of them immediately took a step back.
“A-are you nuts?! I-I’m from a rich family! D-don’t even think about…”
His stuttering was immediately cut off when the dagger grazed his left cheek and sunk unto the coffee-stained wall behind him.
The cook's skin went pale immediately. "a-ahhh!"
The cook’s weak knees gave up on his small body and he slid onto the floor.
“Maa, no need to be so scared cook~! I’m doing it for you!” As usual Im was able to give a happy go lucky smile on his face despite the high tension he had produced.
“So then cook, what do you want me to do with this… um… Oh! Aristocrat! That’s a good name for you eh?” he skipped toward them. Im was very pleased with himself. Finally, after such a long time, there was finally some excitement coming into his life. Who knew that butting into arguments would lead to this? The Korean decided to keep a mental note to do this more often.
He heard the whispers around the room. Some said he was crazy, others said that he had too much kimchi. Im’s heart gave another leap once more. Yes, just what he wanted. People were talking about him, though most were negative. No worries! I just need to attract attention and then my reputation will hit the roof.
He eyed the shivering costumer and cook. “Ah, sorry chef-chan! You may go~” He ushered the cook an escape passage, which he happily accepted.
“Now as for you Mr. Aristocrat sir…” He produced another weapon, only this time it was a long, curved iron axe he swung the item around playfully, almost like it was just a tiny pebble.
“I suggest you go and tell me everything you know, ok?”
The pudgy man tried his best to stick most of his body onto the wall. “L-like what?” His brown eyes flickered toward the man dangerously.
“Oh come on Mr. Aristocrat. Aren’t you the well-known rich merchant that is known for its illegal trading of drugs?” his captive’s eyes widened further.
“Now then, I suggest you tell me all of your, um, clients. All of them, if you will.” He licked the blade of his axe threateningly, “Unless you don’t perhaps want to lose one of you fingers? It will be harder to count money if you lose one right?”
Sweat was pouring down the aristocrat, and with a pudgy finger he pointed at the Korean, “Y-you! You’re working for someone aren’t ya?”
Im’s ears perked up, “Wow, Mr. Aristocrat can guess at these type of stuff too!” Enthusiastically he gave out a loud yell, somehow putting ‘Uri nara mansae!’ into the mix of ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’. “Why yes, I have a Wonderful~ boss at this moment. It’s a woman, and man! Her boobs look so good!” He gave his captive then the sweetest smile, “Do you wish to see her? I can bring you in, but only your head will be able to pass through the inspection…”
