Canon/OC Character Application
Character name: Berwald Oxenstierna (Konungariket Sverige)
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 195lbs [The man is a damn twig, it's mostly muscle...]
Appearance:
Personality: Berwald is the strong, silent type, which makes it hard for others to approach him or understand. It's quite rare that he ever shows any form of emotion in his speech or expression, giving him a rather intimidating appearance. While he doesn't speak about them openly, his is quite strong in his own views, but is always willing to listen and (attempt) to understand another person's side. He isn't quick to judge someone on their appearances or personality alone, and much prefers to get to know them before making a final judgement (though he does have trouble in reaching out). His temper can be short at times, but you wouldn't know it simply by looking at him, as he does his best to conceal negative emotions until pushed to the limits.
However, despite this, deep down, he's actually quite gentle and playful. He enjoys being with the people he cares about and taking care of them, and tends to have a weak spot for children (though he's just as awkward with them as a strange). Still, the Swede is hardly a pushover; he won't hesitate to protect someone whom he sees in trouble and will go to any lengths to keep those precious to him safe [read: keep Tino safe and happy]. He enjoys tinkering with things, and as long as his hands are busy, he won't complain; it doubles as something of a stress-reliever.

Strengths:
- He’s good at repairs, be it with his hands or tools, he's quite the handy man. He can throw broken items together quickly and efficiently, and make the best of what he has when it needs to be done.
- Despite his intimidating appearance, is is affectionate and playful deep down. If he seems something that appears to be wrong or out of place, he'll do his best to fix the situation and turn it into something more pleasant, though he is wrong just as often as he is right, and ends up worrying about nothing at times.
- Because of his quiet nature, he has a lot of time to think things over. He doesn't look at anything simply as it is, and prefers to look a situation or thing over completely before acting (this, in turn, makes him quiet intelligent).
- He's quite the clear thinker, and rarely acts before he thinks. While his reflexes and gut instinct are quite good, he knows better than to run into a situation with no plan at all. He does have his moments were he simply reacts, but he tries to keep control of his acts as much as he can
- He uses swords for weapons, and he's quite good. When it comes to the way of the blade, he prefers simple one-handed or long swords best. They are easiest for someone of his height to use, and provide faster attacks. However, he is also quite skilled with a spear and can easily switch between the weapons during attacks.
Weaknesses:
- His communication skills are aren't the best. He's fairly decent at using body language to get his point across, but more often than not he ends up offending someone without meaning to because of misunderstandings.
- While he doesn't jump into one at the first sign of trouble, Berwald can get a little over enthusiastic about fights. He doesn't mean to be cruel or cause anyone harm, but he tends to lose himself in the thrill of battle. In turn, this someones causes him to seriously hurt someone without meaning to while he isn't quite paying attention. Both his size and physical strength make this something of a problem for those he battles against.
- If he sees something he likes, given that he knows it doesn't belong to anyone, he has a habit of simply picking things up and taking them with him. While he isn't a pack-rat, this causes him to have a lot of random and somewhat bizarre objects on his person (most of which tend to be either very cute or pretty). However, due to his generous personality, most of these objects end up in the hands of random children on the streets in the various cities he visits or turned into something more glorious and given as gifts.
- Obsessiveness can be a bit of an issue, not to the extent of stalker. He tends to throw his entire being into a relationship he truly wants to work, and doesn't tend to understand when he's gone from warm to intimidating. Around those he cares about it is easier for him to show his emotions, but his face still tends to remain blank most of the time.
