OC Character Application
Character name: Iain ó Gallchobhair // Iain Gallagher
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Height: 5’8”
Weight: 134
Appearance:
He usually tucked the hem of his pants into the boots, although sometimes, when he felt like it, which is quite often, the Irish would often wear high-heeled boots in exchange of the usual one, just so that he would appear taller.
Personality: Iain is, by all means, a spoilt child of sort. The man never actually grew up from being a child he once was into an adult. Iain would often throw out temper tantrums at other if his expectations were not met, but it had changed from crying and rolling on the floor, screaming your ears off into a pursed mouth and pouty lips, complete with lack of words from the usually talkative Irish.
Childish and naive is a given trait. He still believes in the fairytales he often heard during his childhood and one of the thing he kept a secret is that he still believed that there is a treasure chest at the end of every rainbow. He’ll find it one day. He’s sure of it.
Though, when given the right incentive, the boy does know how to act like an adult.
He just found it as a boring thing to do.
The redhead also loves to flirt with everyone, friends and enemies alike, although there were not much of the latter, thanks to his cheerful and friendly personae.
However, should the person he is flirting with doesn’t react as he expected them to be, or even responded to his flirts in a particularly seductive manners, he would blush into a various shade of red and loses all his witty remarks, opting to hide behind anyone once that happened.
Also, this is another secret he kept, but deep inside, Iain is a pushover, striving to make sure that everyone likes him… using his own weird way.
Much to his luck (and other’s bad luck), his way often worked.

+Good memories: He could easily remember every and each words from a book he just read. It helped a lot with his work as a healer, despite his preference to not do things by the book.
+Improvising: Like said before, books are just the base guidelines for him. Iain never liked following everything as he liked discovering new things more than anything else, and such, he often would research for ways to make a spell easier to cast, or enhance the effect of one’s spell… and ends up in a success.
+Delightful manners: He knows very well about how to get to a person’s good-sides, and used this knowledge to his advantage most of the time.
+Optimism: He saw through everything from a lighter side, that there’s always be something good behind everything that had happened.
Weaknesses:
-Highly-competitive: To the point that he would do anything to ensure his victory. And he doesn’t like it when someone is getting too close and buddy-buddy with his friends.
-Emotional: One moment, the Irish is laughing, the next moment, he is brooding over some petty matters.
-Dependent: In both emotional and physical ways.
-Mischievous: Iain loves to play pranks on others, and he never really cared about how the person on the receiving end is feeling, as long as he gets what he needed. This changed though, when he is with the person he valued.
-Frail: He didn’t exactly have the best physique for a man around his age.
History: As the only child that had survived through childhood, young Iain is spoilt and lavished with every attention any child could ever wish for. His father listened to every of his whims and his mother doted on him.
This continues for most part of his sheltered childhood, and the little Irish knows little, if not nothing, about how the world actually works.
But then, growing up is never fun, and soon enough, Iain would often get dragged into parties by his mom, and was introduced to a lot of other wealthy kids.
Like every and each parents, Iain’s parents only hoped for the best for their only child, but Iain himself doesn’t like this.
He liked being alone, secluded in his own world.
And that’s exactly where he got scolded harshly for the first time by his father. The boy didn’t exactly have the best behaviour when he was introduced to a daughter of his father’s important business partner, and he ended up making the girl cry. This act almost screwed their good life, if not for the fact that the boy learns fast and it doesn’t take long to make him into this smooth talker like he is now.
It was pretty much an easy cruise for him after that eventful day, although he still doesn’t know what to do with the rest of his life.
Iain is easily distracted by new things, and he never stayed on one thing for too long.
That is, until he stumbled upon an apothecary during one of his escape from the daily, boring lessons and met Tòmas Macbeatha Maxwell, whom he later called Beth, much to the other’s dismay.
From that day on, the Irish would often make sure that he always had time to stop by the apothecary, often to annoy the hell out of the Scot, because it was slowly becoming one of his favorite pastime activity.
The visit to the apothecary also played another change to his life. Exposed to the wonder that is healing and medicines, it didn’t take long for Iain to finally decide on what he’ll do with his life.
Besides, being a healer doesn’t sound that bad of a job, and, on the bonus side, being a healer means he could always find something to pick a fight/bicker/argue with Tòmas.
Sample Post:
“You looked tired, young sir,” The old butler spoke up right next to him, and he said nothing in reply, lips pursed into a thin line while his eyes scanned through the lining words in front of him. The old man only sighed at the silent response and placed the cup of coffee carefully on the table, giving the young man a fond look. Even after years of serving in the Gallagher household, the young master’s antics never cease to amuse him.
Just a little more… Iain thought to himself, eyes heavy from the lack of sleep for days. He must have reached his limits… the words don’t even make any sense to him now. … and he was so close to finding something new too. So close to finding something to boast over again to peoples around him. To annoy people around him with. He was not going to give in now. Foods and other needs can wait—
Damn it.
The smell was just too much for him.
Shaking his head slightly, the redhead finally gave up and closed the dusty old book. “Thank you,” Iain muttered, trying his best to flash a smile at the faithful man before waving him off and taking a small sip from the cup.
And a thought soon occurred to him.
Wait. That last part about the spell…
Almost slamming the cup onto the table, the Irish quickly flipped through the old pages, eyes scanning the content quickly until he finally found what he wanted.
... He's right. “EUREKA!” He shouted, tired looks quickly replaced by a look of satisfaction on his own genius mind, and he hurried towards the big wooden door, the only thing in his mind was to show off his newest finding to his good friend.
After all, the sleepless nights and irregular eating pattern would pay off after seeing that shocked expression on the Scot’s face.
