Canon Character Application =D
Character name:
Mathias Køhler
Age:
Appears to be about 20. When asked about his real age, he'll reply with a different number every time.
Gender:
A male, I hope. Or else I've been lied to. ;AAA;
Height:
180 cm [about 5'9"]
Weight:
About 170 lb.
Appearance:
Personality:
Mathias has the personality of a young teenager, despite his older appearance. Always bounding about with an inability to sit still, he gestures wildly and uses quite a range of facial features as he speaks. His curiosity for the unknown is virtually limitless. Despite this rather meek quality, Mathias is not, by any means, a quiet person. He doesn't bother to lower his voice and never thinks before he speaks. Often times, he is ignorant of a situation and other people’s emotions, causing him to misunderstand the seriousness of a situation, which causes him to make rather stupid mistakes.
However, despite his rather boisterous attitude, Mathias can also be serious. When he taps upon his serious side, he acts every bit his age. He can be a bit of a control freak at times. He's can also be a bit manipulative and operates under they saying. "The Ends Justify the Means". He is not afraid to use other people and their emotions as long as he accomplishes his goal, whatever that may be.
Class:
-> Knight
-> Ranger

Dislikes:
- Being proven wrong
- Being taken advantage of
- Having his alcohol taken away from him

- Losing a fight
- Waiting
Strengths:
+ Mathias is charismatic. He's always smiling and making jokes, which makes him very easy to get along with. He's very much a people person, and can get along with just about everyone. He's quick to find the humor in situations, and is quick to lighten up the atmosphere.
+ Mathias is strong. Having trained for several years, he slowly worked up his endurance to what it is now. Able to carry around his giant axe without problem, his swings are precise and strong in battle. Mathias is also mentally strong. After losing his parents and everything close to him, he was forced to put himself back together. Thus, it takes quite a lot to shake Mathias from his cheerful, happy demeanor.
+ Mathias is also very resourceful. Able to think up of a purpose for almost everything he has, he's very good at improvisation and taking the items around him at the moment and putting them together to suit his needs. This comes in handy when he finds himself in extreme situations.
Weaknesses:
- Mathias is very action oriented and thus doesn't think before he acts. Because of this, his so-called "plans" are only half-thought out and usually lead to disaster. He also has a habit of speaking before he thinks as well, which only leads him to trouble. Mathias is also quite impatient.
- Mathias can be very oblivious at times. Not able to comprehend the mood of situations, he'll disregard it entirely and go about as his usual self.
- Mathias is very stubborn and vindictive. Able to come up with numerous arguments off the top of his head, he will argue until the sun sets if he gets it into his head that he's right. Likewise, if you do something wrong, he'll make sure you remember it.
History:
Mathias was born an only child of well off parents.
As the only son and heir to the Køhler family, his parents were both harsh, stern, unforgiving teachers, as well as caring, sweet, loving parents. Mathias got along relatively well with his parents and would have carried on living with them, taking over the family legacy and living the life his father had always wanted him to...
...If his house hadn't caught on fire. Their majestic home burned to the ground, taking his parents with it.
Mathias, the only surviver, had wandered around the village and surrounding forests, completely dazed and in a shock. After a few days, he came across an orphanage. There, he stayed for a couple years. The caregivers were quite different from his parents, and there were other children there too! Mathias quickly made friends, including a quiet Norwegain boy named Mikkel. Mathias didn't understand Mikkel, who was always taking to his creatures, and often teased him.
A while after, Mikkel left the orphanage. With his self-proclaimed best friend gone, it didn't take Mathias long to follow. However, instead of going into the forest, Mathais made his way back to his village. He stumbled upon a blacksmith. He was easily fascinated by the weapons the blacksmith made, and the owner, bemused by the boy's wonder, offered to teach him how to fight with numerous weapons. Despite being able to work with any weapon, Mathias only carries around a giant axe.
After learning everything the blacksmith had to teach him, Mathias left with a thanks, and started wandering, waiting for adventures to come...
((....Okay, so, i'm not exactly sure what the main story line is, or when this is taking place....so I can change his history if need be.))
((Also, the parts where I mentioned Mikkel--Norway--was discussed with the Norway RPer before hand))
Sample Post:
Mathias grinned, despite the sweat dripping down his forehead. He tightened his grip on his axe, keeping his eyes completely focused on his opponent--his teacher.
"In order for your training to be complete." His trainer had said. "You must defeat me in battle?"
Mathias had gasped. "What? Defeat you?!" He cried.
His teacher merely nodded. "Yes. Once you can defeat me, then I will know that you have learned everything I can teach you."
Mathias had stared at his teacher for a few moments in shock--defeat his teacher! That was impossible!--before grinning. "You got it gramps! I'll defeat you fair and square!"
It had taken a few years, but the day had finally come. The day he would finally complete his training! The day he could finally go off on his own and find his own adventures, his own demons to battle!
His own way of living his life.
For too long had he been told what to do. For too long had he been told how to life his life. But, not any longer. He would win, and he will make something of himself.
And with that thought, he charged, his axe creating a loud clang when it clashed against his instructors sword. He stared into his instructor's eyes, struggling, pushing hard against the metal sword. Suddenly, Mathias smirked, took a step back, and swung his axe hard at his instructor.
No one would tell Mathias Køhler how to live his life. No one.
